Course/Module description:
The wise old man (Senex), the eternal child (Puer) and the maiden - are three of the Jungian archetypes developed by James Hillman. The course will follow the development of these archetypes from Mythology to Religion. A special emphasis will be given to their development in Jewish Mysticism

Course/Module aims:
This course will focus on different issues in the archetypal psychology of James Hillman, which will be used in reading various texts (from Mythology and Religion). especially on Jewish Mystical texts.

Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
- demonstrate an introductory understanding of important issues and debates arising in the academic study of archetypal psychology
- demonstrate an introductory knowledge and understanding of the Senex, Puer and Maiden archetypes in the contexts of Mythology and Religion.
· demonstrate undergraduate skills in writing, critical thinking, argument, reflection, oral communication and ability to work independently and in groups
