Course/Module description:
The course will combine theoretical, applied and reflective knowledge, while conducting discussions and analyzing case descriptions.
Course/Module aims:
The aim of the course is to enrich the therapeutic understanding and dynamics of the relationship between parents and their children. We will focus on understanding the parent's mental dynamics as a key to understanding the child's difficulties and problems.
We will discuss the therapeutic work for the development of parental awareness, and the skills for caring for parents-
Emphasis will be placed on the influence of parenting style on the child's difficulties, identifying skills that the parents need in order to meet the child's needs and creating a partnership with parents.
The course will combine theoretical, applied and reflective knowledge, while conducting discussions and analyzing case descriptions.
Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
Students will deeply understand the parenting experience and the importance of therapeutic work with parents
Know how to work with parents on developing parental awareness and parental self-listening skills
Know how to work with parents on parental authority, boundaries and developing a beneficial parental presence

The parenting experience and the importance of therapeutic work with parents
Parental awareness - the maternal constellation, narcissistic parenting scripts and parental self-listening skills
Intergenerational transfer and the roles of the child in the parental experience.
Limits and parental authority: parental presence, supervision and the role of the anchor
Issues and dilemmas in parental guidance.
