Course/Module description:
During this seminar, the students will conduct a research in the field of child sexual abuse, which will reflect a process of theoretical and practical learning. In the current seminar, the research will focus on sexual abuse committed within the framework of a youth movements and community centers, when each of the students will conduct research dealing with sub-issues relating to the unique contexts within this topic.

Course/Module aims:
1. To acquire theoretical and empirical knowledge regarding child sexual abuse in a multi-systemic and qualitative view
2. To develop the student's critical and broad thinking on the research topic and in carrying out qualitative research in the field
3. To allow personal experience in the various stages of the research: the research question, the research proposal, ethics, data collection, data analysis, writing the research and submitting.
4. To enable significant group experience in the form of work in peer groups, joint analysis of the findings, and more.
5. To enable a platform and visibility for the research results in the form of writing an academic or professional article, or through additional platforms, with the aim of providing professionals in the field with up-to-date and knowledge about the research topic

Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
1. To locate a topic for research and formulate a research question
2. Summarize in an integrative and critical manner the existing scientific knowledge on the chosen topic
3. Formulate a clear and precise research proposal
4. Draft a request for approval from an ethics committee in order to conduct the research
5. To carry out the research work including collecting and analyzing data, writing and discussing the findings
6. To experience the thematic approach to qualitative data analysis
7. To present a research report that meets all the scientific criteria

Attendance requirements(%):
Compulsory attendance in all frontal teaching

Teaching arrangement and method of instruction: Frontal lectures, personal meetings, group work, individual work.

Course/Module Content:
1. Definition and review of key concepts and content in child sexual abuse, while focusing on the unique research topic that the course will deal with
2. Learning the principles of qualitative research theoretically and methodologically
3. Writing a research seminar: finding a topic, constructing a research question, writing a literature review, the method chapter, the findings chapter, and the discussion & implication chapter
4. Ethical issues in research
