Course/Module description:
The course will lay the foundations of connecting between theoretical knowledge and professional practice of the psychosocial treatment through the view of the narrative approach. We will introduce basic concepts of the narrative approach and discuss professional issues and dilemmas of fieldwork in narrative language on the base of examples from our professional living experience.
Course/Module aims:
1. Introducing basic concepts of the narrative approach.
2. Exercising the narrative language in the personal practice context.
Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
1.Describe the view of narrative treatment.
2. Discuss professional dilemmas by the concepts of the narrative approach
3.Manage psychosocial treatment using narrative approach.

Course/Module Content:
1. Introduction to the narrative approach and its view
2. The theory and values of the narrative treatment
3. Central concepts in the theories of the narrative approach
4. The Therapeutical Alliance in the narrative approach: the nature of social worker-client relationship
5-12 meetings: Discussions on issues and dilemmas by narrative concepts. On one occasion a film will be presented and analyzed together.
13. Conclusions and "narrative farewell".
