Course/Module description:
This course offers an introduction to the sociological way of thinking. It seeks to present and discuss basic concepts, prominent theories, classic and contemporary studies in sociology, and to examine diverse topics with sociological tools. We will explore the relations between individuals and society as well as social and cultural institutions. Special emphasis will be given to various aspects of social inequality.
Course/Module aims:
This course aims to present basic concepts in sociology, develop sociological understanding and analytical skills, and enrich the students' professional toolbox.
Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
Identify various social processes and social forces; discuss sociological theories and concepts, and apply them to issues and events in Israeli society.
