Course/Module description:
Topics in mathematics:
4 units

Course/Module aims:
A knowledge of mathematical ideas, learning to think in a mathematical way, and preparation for academic studies in the sciences.

Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
At the end of the course, students need to understand the concept of functions, know how to solve equations and problems in arithmetic and trigonometry, know the properties of geometric and arithmetic series, to know the properties and equations of lines and circles, use the derivative to investigate functions, recognize an integral and its uses, and solve problems in probability.

Teaching arrangement and method of instruction: Explanation, tutorial, and individual work

Course/Module Content:
Algebraic techniques , equations, inequalities, analytic geometry, series, probability, plane trigonometry and trigonometric functions, word problems, exponential and logarithmic functions, differential and integral calculus .

If the final exam score is higher than the intermediate test score:
Teacher's Grade: 35% (Tests and Exercises)
Intermediate test: 15%
Final Exam: 50%

The course will give a bonus of 10 points to mark at least 60.
In this case, the weighted final score can exceed 100
