The course focuses on the health and illness throughout the lifespan of a woman
and emphasizes aspects concerning physiology, emotional, familial, cultural and

Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
At the completion of the course, students will be able to identify and describe:
1. The normal and pathologic process of pregnancy, delivery and post-partum.
2. The comprehensive treatment for women with fertility issues.
3. Anatomic deficiencies, physiologic, benign and malignant tumors in the female
reproductive tract.
4. Risk factors to disease in the female reproductive tract and preventive measures.
5. Ages pertaining to puberty, menopause and post-menopause.
6. Special emphasis in preventative health and welfare of the woman.

Pregnancy: Diagnosis, Adaptations, Participation and teaching of the Client

Antepartal care – Class and exercise (Attendance mandatory)
Bleeding in the first trimester of pregnancy: Fear and coping
Coping with bleeding in the 2nd trimester of pregnancy

Prevention of complications and health promotion of diabetes in pregnancy
