תאור כללי של הקורס:
הקורס יעסוק בהגדרת הטרור, וכיצד פעילות טרוריסטית מתקשרת לעולם הפשיעה, ומכאן, מהי תגובתה של מערכת אכיפת החוק לפעילות שכזו. כמו כן נבחן כיצד ניתן לאפיין את ארגוני הטרור והחברים בהם וכן את פעולות הטרור עצמן מתוך הבנת הפסיכולוגיה, הרקע, המניעים והאידיאולוגיה הקשורים בכך. בקורס זה אף נבחן מהו הקשר בפועל בין פשיעה לטרור וכיצד הוא בא לידי ביטוי בעולם בכלל ובישראל בפרט, האם לטרוריסטים מאפיינים משותפים עם עבריינים "רגילים", האם הם מבצעים עבירות רגילות באופן כללי או למטרות הטרור בלבד.

בסיומו של קורס זה, סטודנטים יהיו מסוגלים:

בסיומו של הקורס הסטודנטים יהיו מסוגלים להבין את הקשר בין תחום הקרימינולוגיה והטרור וכיצד הוא בא לידי ביטוי. הם יכירו את תחום הטרור מהפאנים הסוציאולוגים והפסיכולוגים וידעו להבחין בין המניעים השונים לביצוע פעולות טרור על ידי יחידים או קבוצות. כמו כן, הם יחשפו לתרומתה של מערכת אכיפת החוק להתמודדות עם תופעת הטרור.
