תאור כללי של הקורס:
הקורס מציע מבוא לגישות ותיאוריות מרכזיות במדע המדינה. בכך, מבקש הקורס ליצור תשתית ראשונית למחקר ברמת המוסמך בדיסציפלינה.

מטרות הקורס:
הקורס בנוי משני נדבכים:
חלק א': מבוא לקורס וסוגיות בסיסיות בפילוסופיה של מדעי החברה
חלק ב': מספר גישות ותיאוריות מרכזיות במדע המדינה

תוצרי למידה :
בסיומו של קורס זה, סטודנטים יהיו מסוגלים:
כתוצאה מהחלק הראשון הסטודנטים אמורים לרכוש ידע בסיסי על השאלות הבסיסיות בפילוסופיה של מדעי החברה.
החלק השני יביא את הסטודנטים לרמת ידע סבירה לגבי התאוריות המרכזיות והתת-דיסציפלינות במדע המדינה: הגישה ההתנהגותית, הבחירה הרציונאלית, מרקסיזם וניאו-מרקסיזם, המוסדיות החדשה, גישות תרבותיות, פמיניזם, פוסט-מודרניזם ופילוסופיה פוליטית.
