תאור כללי של הקורס:
הקורס מתייחס למתחים בין דת ומדינה מזוויות שונות, היסטוריות ופילוסופיות. המצב בישראל יוצג לאור ההתפחויות השונות בארץ ובהשוואה להסדרים במדינות אחרות.

מטרות הקורס:
מטרות הקורס הן לתת לתלמידים ראייה רחבה על מגוון ההסדרים שהיו קיימים ושקיימים היום בין אנשי דת ופוליטיקה ולהציג את המצב בישראל מזוויות שונות.

תוצרי למידה :
בסיומו של קורס זה, סטודנטים יהיו מסוגלים:
*להדגים הבנה התחלתית של נושאים עיקריים וויכוחים חשובים הנובעים מחקר דת ומדינה
* להראות הבנה בסיסית והבנה של מגוון הסדרים בין מוסדות דת ומדינה
* להראות מיומנויות שונות בכתיבה, ניתוח, ויכוח והבעה בעל פה בנושא של דת ומדינה
* לנתח ולהעריך גישות שונות והסדרים שונים לניהול שרותי דת
* להעריך ההתאמה של שיטות שונות ליחסי דת ומדינה בישראל
