תאור כללי של הקורס:
נדון בתיאוריות ביקורתיות של תרבות בהקשרים של המודרנה והעכשוויות. נעמיד גנאלוגיות שונות של תיאוריה ביקורתית (מרקסיזם, פסיכואנליזה, אסכולת פרנקפורט, פוסטקולוניאליזם) אל מול גישות מתקדמות לסוגיות המפתח הביקורתיות (אתנו-היסטוריה, אנתרופולוגיה חזותית, תיאוריה פמיניסטית, אסתטיקה קווירית, לימודי גלובליזציה, אקולוגיה פוליטית, ביקורת של טכנולוגיות מידע, ואחרים). נשלב פרויקטים אמנותיים (בספרות, קולנוע, צילום, אדריכלות, אוצרות דיגיטלית) אל תוך הדיון, ונפעיל אותם להבנה מוחשית ופעילה של סוגיות המפתח הביקורתית. בפרויקט סיום אישי או קבוצתי, אתן.ם מפתחות.ים גישה/תגובה עצמאית.

מטרות הקורס:
• הבנה עמוקה של גישות תיאורטיות וביקורתיות בחקר התרבות (גנאלוגיות, מושגי ושאלות מפתח, פרספקטיבות)
• קידום של חשיבה ביקורתית על תופעות תרבותיות היסטוריות ועכשוויות

תוצרי למידה :
בסיומו של קורס זה, סטודנטים יהיו מסוגלים:
• להפעיל גישות תיאורטיות וביקורתיות לניתוח תופעות תרבותיות ספציפיות (פרקטיקות, מוסדות, אתרים, וכו')
• להפעיל חשיבה ביקורתית להבנה של רגעים היסטוריים ועכשוויים בחיי התרבות
