תאור כללי של הקורס:
הקורס יחשוף את הסטודנטים למחקרי מפתח על הדרכים והצורות בהן תרבות (כגון, ערכים, מיצובים נרטיבות, גבולות סימבוליים והון תרבותי) מושפעת על ידי, ומשפיעה על, אי שיוויון חברתי, מעמדי, מגדרי, ואתני/גזעי. ההרצאות ודיוני הכיתה ייערכו באנגלית.

מטרות הקורס:
דרישות הקורס:
הסטודנטיום/ות נדרשים/ות להגיע לשיעורים (ולהודיע במייל לפני השיעור במקרה שלא יכולים להגיע). השתתפות בדיונים בשיעורים הינה חשובה ומומלצת ביותר בקורס זה. ייתכנו שינויים בקריאות המצויינות בסילבוס, נא עיקבו אחר ההודעות במודל.

דוחות קריאה – הסטודנטים/ות צריכים לכתוב 4 דוחות קריאה במהלך הקורס, המתייחסים לכל פרטי הקריאה לאותו שבוע. הדוחות צריכים להיות בהיקף של עמוד אחד, בערך 500 מילה, וניתן לכתוב אותם בעברית או באנגלית. הדוחות הם למעשה תרגילים בחשיבה ובכתיבה, הם אינם מיועדים להיות עבודות מלוטשות. כתיבת הדוחות תאפשר לכם לבחון את ההבנה שלכם בתוכני הקורס, לזהות קשרים בין קריאות בתוך השבוע או בשבועות שונים, ו/או להציע ביקורות. יש להעלות את הדוחות למודל עד השעה 17:00 בערב של יום ראשון בו השיעור מתקיים. דוחות מאוחרים לא יתקבלו.


כל סטודנט/ית יכתוב עבודה סופית כמטלת הקורס, אשר תעסוק באחד או יותר מהנושאים שיכוסו במהלך הסמסטר. סטודנטיות/ים יכתבו עבודה אשר תנתח אירוע חברתי עכשווי או היסטורי בעזרת כלים אנליטיים מתוך קריאות הקורס.

תוצרי למידה :
בסיומו של קורס זה, סטודנטים יהיו מסוגלים:
רכישת יכולת לסכם ולהשוות את ההגדרות השונות של המונח "תרבות" ולנתח תאוריות שונות לגבי כיצד ההגדרות השונות של תרבות משפיעות ומושפעות מאי שיוויון חברתי. הסטודנטים/ות מצופים/ת גם להדגים את ההגדרות השונות של תרבות, ולהיות מסוגלים/ות להשתמש בהן בניסוח פרוייקט מחקר בנושא תרבות ואי שיוויון חברתי.
