Course/Module description:
The Book of Genesis offers (especially in its first eleven chapters) a comprehensive cosmology that concern the central issues of human - The meaning of human existence, the presence of transcendent power, gender relations, language, entrepreneurship, creativity, the connection to animals, the relation to the inhuman, the responsibility for ecology, and so on.
Like other stories of origin, the Book of Genesis embraces the "great questions". questions that the anthropological discipline approaches in terms of academic and comparative study.
In this course, we will read a close reading of the biblical text in addition to anthropological articles and articles from various fields in the social sciences, and on cosmologies from around the world.
The course is an online course consisting of frontal lectures and conversations with number of guests, including Prof Yair Zackowitz, Prof Zali Gurevich and Dr Ruth Calderon.

Course/Module aims:
The course introduces students to the science of anthropology through a close reading of chapters 1-11 in the book of Genesis. Through these, we will become more familiar with the richness and diversity of our cultural life, as well as the similarity between many possibilities of living and cultures. During the course, we will discuss the physical and narrative ways of coping with the challenges of life and organizing the daily routine.

Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
• Acquaintance with the history of anthropology
• To recognize the many possibilities in which people tell themselves the world, and translate their principles into social and cultural life.
• Reflection regarding our lives through examining the lives of others.
• Write reading page about the lessons and the articles in the course
• Write a short paper dealing with an origin story (myth)
