The course reviews the history of Family therapy and parent consolation , and introduces the main therapeutic approaches. The course deals with issues in psychopathology and therapeutic communication with parents and children.

Course/Module aims:
Introduction to family therapy and parent consultation: History, central issues and main approaches.

Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
To describe and compare different approaches to family therapy.
To explain the therapists stance according to different theories.
To describe the characteristics of therapeutic communication with parents, children and adolescents.
To describe the characteristics and objectives of parent therapy and consultation.
