תאור כללי של הקורס:
הקורס דן בהתפתחותם של ערכים. מהם ערכים? מה חשיבותם? מנין באים ערכים אלה? האם הם משתנים במהלך החיים? למשל, נדון בטענה שהמשפחה היא מאבני היסוד של החינוך לערכים. מה גורם לדמיון בין ערכי הורים וילדיהם? אילו תנאים (סגנונות הורות, אישיות הילד, הרכב המשפחה והסביבה התרבותית) ישפיעו על מידת "הצלחת" ההורים בהעברת ערכיהם לילדיהם? ואולי צריך לשים את הדגש על השפעות גנטיות על ערכים? דרישות הקורס כוללות השתתפות פעילה, המבוססת על קריאת החומר המכין לשיעור. הגשת תרגיל, ובסיום הקורס עבודה מסכמת, בצורה של סקירה אינטגרטיבית של נושא מנושאי הקורס או פיתוח של כלי חדש לבדיקת ערכים בגיל צעיר.

מטרות הקורס:
הבנה מעמיקה של תחום הערכים בהקשר ההתפתחותי. הבנה של האתגרים של מדידת ערכים בגיל הילדות והחשיבות של פרספקטיבה התפתחותית להבנת התפתחות ערכית.

תוצרי למידה :
בסיומו של קורס זה, סטודנטים יהיו מסוגלים:
הסטודנטים יהיו מסוגלים להבין היטב את תיאוריית הערכים, להבין מה המשמעות של מדידת ערכים אצל ילדים ואצל מבוגרים, ולפתח שאלה מחקרית משמעותית בנושא של התפתחות ערכים.
