Course/Module description:
The seminar is limited to students in the Psychobiology Program. The seminar will include guest lectures by Psychobiology researchers from the Department of Psychology, the Institute for Life Sciences and the Center for Brain Research in the Hebrew University, as well as individual presentations by the students, which will be individually guided by the guest lecturers.

Course/Module aims:
The course aim is to introduce the Hebrew University Psychobiology researchers and their specific areas of interest to students of the Psychobiology Program, in order to allow the students to choose and conduct research in various Psychobiology laboratories, in their third year graduate seminar as well as in Advanced Graduate studies.

Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
Upon completion of the course, the students will be able to:
• Identify the Hebrew University psychobiology researchers and remember and describe their specific research interests.
• Compare and relate to the various Psychobiology research topics, in order to choose an advisor for the seminar in the second part of this course, as well as a laboratory for conducting research in the context of the Psychobiology Program’s third year graduate seminar.
• To assemble and summarize several central and recent papers in the area of scientific interest of the seminar advisor (in consultation with the advisor).
• To plan, organize and prepare a presentation based on these papers and to integrate and discuss these papers in the wider context of the research area of the advisor.

Full attendence (100%) in all classes is required

Teaching arrangement and method of instruction: The first part of the course will comprise guest lectures by Psychobiology researchers at the Hebrew University. In the second part of the course (taking place in the Safra Campus, 2nd semester), each student will choose one of the guest lecturers as a guide for his/her seminar work. The student and the guide will assemble several recent central papers in the guide’s filed of academic interest and the student will summarize the papers and build a 30-minutes PowerPoint presentation, based on these papers.

The list of guest lecturers and their fields of interests will be given in the beginning of the semester.

Required Reading:
The required reading material will be given to each student individually by his/her presentation/seminar advisor.
