Course/Module description:
An introduction to modern Japan

Course/Module aims:
To introduce the institutions, processes and people who influenced the rise of modern Japan since the mid-nineteen century.

Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
To understand the institutions and processes which influenced the rise of modern Japan and locate them within wider historical context.
