Course/Module description:
Human evolution as reconstructed from the archaeological and palaeontological records
Course/Module aims:
To provide the students with data concerning human physical evolution from the appearance of the first hominins considered to belong to the human story. The course also provides a preliminary introduction to the general evolution of the Primates, Ape behaviour, evolutionary mechanism at large, genetics, etc.
Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
To acquire basic knowledge of Paleoanthropology, and the ability to understand and asses the published data as regards archaeological finds pertaining to our understanding of human evolution
