Getting to know ancient Mesopotamian magical texts: incantations, rituals, and magical series.

Course/Module aims:

Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
The students will get to know better Mesopotamian magic and will be able to compare it later to other magical cultures.

Teaching arrangement and method of instruction: Close reading. Active participation. Preparing papers for class.

Incantations against snakes, scorpions, diseases, witchcraft, impotence and love.
