Course/Module description:
The seminar aims to explore the Balkans as a meeting point between Christianity, Islam and Judaism. It discusses the Ottoman rule over the Peninsula and its legacy, the rise of nationalism in the region and the shaping of nation-states.

Course/Module aims:
The seminar aims to acquaint the students with the main events and developments that shaped the history of Balkans during the 19th and 20th centuries

Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
The seminar aims to prepare the students to write an original paper that explores the social, cultural or historical aspects of the Balkans on the basis of the excising academic literature.
